What a thrill it was to embroider in-store during Jenni Kayne's sweater event. I set up in the Ardmore location while the women of Suburban Square perused cozy sweaters and apparel. Customers received complimentary embroidery with any purchase.
To prepare for the event, Jenni Kayne's store associates sent me an array of clothing items from t-shirts to cashmere sweaters. Together, we came up with iconography and thread colors that best suited the Jenni Kayne aesthetic - simple styles and neutral tones.
Customers jumped at the opportunity to get items embroidered, especially because it was during Jenni Kayne's $100 off sweater sale. I stitched many cuffs with childrens' names, lapels of sweaters, t-shirts, and my favorite - a cashmere pillow case that was undeniably soft.
Cashmere is a great texture for embroidery, especially the tighter weaves. Chainstitch enhancements make an already chic textile a little more classy. The customers were happy!
