I was delighted to stitch for concert attendees of the Lumineers Automatic World tour as they made their stop in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park. I was perched in the VIP Lounge, alternatively known during Phillies games as the Diamond Club, offering custom chainstitch embroidery onto the straps of concertgoers' complimentary Lumineers-branded fanny packs.
The tour decorated their VIP lounge exquisitely with a travel-themed vintage airport lounge vibe, complete with board games, photo opportunities, and well-loved song titles displayed around the room. Guests could relax, grab a drink, linger, and get complimentary embroidery before the show started.
I prepared a menu, order form, and provided a selection of colors for guests to choose from to complete their embroidered fanny pack. It was smooth sailing with laid-back vibes and happy guests eager to watch their favorite band perform. I was assisted during the event to help manage the line and explain the embroidery process, making it possible for me to stitch with even greater efficiency.
The highlight of the event for me was actually the opener! The Lumineers had Philadelphia's own Dr. Dog open for them, and as I set up for the event, I was able to listen to Dr. Dog's sound check and listen to their set list before the official show. To boot, my shift ended before the Lumineers were on stage, so I even got to witness the final song of Dr. Dog's set, complete with Stage Milk. Dr. Dog is one of my absolute favorite bands...hailing from my neighborhood of Fairmount, Philadelphia!
Working with the tour was amazing. They have a great respect for artists, and it showed. Plus, it was so cool meeting my contact for the event, who happened to be a Fairmount neighbor of mine! We bonded over all things Philadelphia, and she made me feel comfortable and cared for. I am forever grateful for the opportunity!
