Embroidery with Veronica Beard & The Phillies in Rittenhouse

I had the pleasure of working with Veronica Beard and the WAGs of the Phillies at a very special private shopping event to celebrate the opening of Veronica Beard's Rittenhouse location.

WAGs were invited to customize one of VB's iconic dickey blazers with Phillies baseball-themed designs (drawn by me), monograms, and names. The Phillies even granted us exclusive access to stitch the classic & vintage P logo on the women's blazers. In addition to embroidery, I also stitched patches (provided by the team) wherever the ladies wanted them on their blazers. It was so fun customizing looks with each guest! And it was very sweet to see how players were commemorated on blazer lapels, cuffs, and pockets.

In addition to making their bespoke blazers, guests dined on hors d'oeuvres served by waitstaff and sipped champagne and aperol spritzes. It was a classy affair, and everyone felt pampered!

The store associates were dedicated and attentive to the shoppers as we figured out the best placements for embroidery to avoid any disturbances to the craftsmanship of the blazer. The event was so successful that Veronica Beard sent me home with additional orders that WAGs had finalized with them over the phone. Because I'm local to Philadelphia, I returned the embroidered goods in person the following day.

As a lifelong Phillies fan, multi-year 6-pack ticket holder, and 2008 World Series game attendee (I even spoke to WIP on the radio from the K-Lot about how psyched I was for Jamie Moyer to pitch), I was so honored to work this event. I kept my cool! I left with an even greater appreciation for the lifestyle of a WAG, changing cities at the change of a contract and making new friends and new homes with each move. The kindness and graciousness are unsurpassed!
